Oil Painting

I've changed a few things. Liked the old things, but not terribly pleased with the execution. But now that I've put a few more hours into it, I'm much happier. Not nearly done, of course. Small details to put in and all that.

Thank you, Joel

I found my nerd glasses. They were in my paint bag. Wearing them bestows me with unfathomed creative powers, and as the fragile blossom of an artist that I am I spat on my hands and got down to shovel my way through a few hours of painting.

Art theory? Not important. Experience? Not necessary. It has always been my personal belief that if one bashes away long enough, something will come of it. Or call the end result a post-modern interpretation of the avant garde, and no one can say otherwise.

Don't mess with the suffering artist.

All this while watching Gensomaden Saiyuki online and chatting with Matt and Trenton.

Feel of Paper

Today I did nothing but watch Power Ranger episodes and do a bit of sketching for a possible painting. I studied heads and angles in my grandfather's old We Draw Portraits book.

I figured the same principles would apply to manga.
